Home Away . . .

from home = St. George
This trip we took our bikes
and enjoyed the Virgin River Trail
Where we saw the coolest bike fixing station.
It was an Eagle Scout project.
It had tools, a pump, and a bar code
you could scan on your phone and
have instructional information on how to fix your bike.
Then we had to get a tiger's blood avalanche at Swig!
I had to take this to prove it got to 90 on Friday!
(try to ignore the dust)
The girls got there Friday night and we ate
at the Pizza Factory. And took pictures in the firetruck!
The next morning we tried out a new place to us.
They are made fresh, hot, and to order!
You pick your glaze.
And any toppings you want.
Can I just say . . . YUM!
She still gets sprinkles if available.
We took a trip out to show Paige the petroglyphs at Little Black Mountain.
And everyone did yoga.
And planked. (sort of)
I tried to wax artistic.
Someone must be watching too much Karate Kid.
Then we moved on to the Glitter Pits.
Silly.
Fun.
Diamonds.
White as snow.
And did more yoga.
Then we ate at our favorite!
These two cuties!
Courtney and her beverage of choice.

Driving home we saw some fantastic clouds!
I love clouds.

And we saw the Payson Temple.

Until next time St. George!

Two times St. George

In February I went to St. George
with my Mom for the funeral of her brother.
And got to see so many of my cousins.
The Barton family
 The Cox family
 The entire Cox family
 The Jackson family
Taking a break from the funeral festivities.
The Wood family - and I went on a little adventure
to the petroglyphs at Little Black Mountain
 and to the Glitter Pits.
 The twins - glittering!

Then in March, Mark, Courtney and I went for a little holiday.
We visited Kayenta. I love these wind things.
 And red mountains.
 And these two!
Although it was cold and rainy
and we had to order hot chocolate for breakfast,
we still found a little time and a little sun
to enjoy a new hike in Snow Canyon.
And one on Red Rocks - the Butterfly Trail.
Courtney was the king of the mountain!
As anyone who reads this blog can see,
we never tire of beautiful
St. George!

Until next time . . .
and I sure hope the weather is better!

St. George - Glitter Pit - Spiral Jetty

On our recent trip to St. George
we visited our favorite fruit/vegetable
market - Frei's.
We bought tickets for Hairspray @ Tuachan
and took some weird pictures!
 Cute ones though!
 They were having camel rides!
Then that night we went to the play! So good.

We took a lovely drive and saw some new petroglyphs -
hmmm that would be an oxymoron -
we saw some petroglyphs that we had never seen before!
And luckily found the Glitter Pit!
 Which looks like glass.
It also glitters in the sun.
Unfortunately we got there a little too late.
 It was seriously cool.
If you want to visit it when next in St. George
please find directions here! Cause you will not find them
ANYWHERE else!
We took a little trip to Vegas
and ate at Mesa Grill (thank you Bobby Flay)
 Yummy shrimp tacos!

It was so hot while we were there,
Just kidding! Don't you just love Frank Gehry?!
We found a new fav place for breakfast.

And went to our old fav for dinner.
But we didn't have any fun without Paige!
Such sad faces!
The other day we took our 2nd annual
drive to The Spiral Jetty!
And my goodness - it never disappoints!
We went with these guys!
 And the sunset was spectacular!
 I couldn't stop taking pictures!
Someone who had been there recently, but prior to us,
left a tribute to the artist - nice!

 The water was so warm.
The sky and the water - beautiful!
 I, obviously, couldn't get enough!

Can't wait for our 3rd annual trip out
to the ends of the earth,
in the middle of nowhere!
I was going to link it but just go to google.com/maps
and type in The Spiral Jetty and you will see what I mean!

Until next time!
