Sunflowers and Cattails -

Must be summer!

Youth Conference 2011

We started off with a service project at the Church.

 Then we Paul, Charisse, Sarah, Becky, Brian, Jackson,

Hannah, Haley, Tambra, Sophia, and I

all headed off to Oakely.

 To a beautiful cabin - thanks Paul!

 Where we made our own Mormonads!

The next morning . . .

 We played "Fear Factor" games.

Such as: eating whipped cream pies

 learning to tie neckties

 singing hymns with mouths full of watermelon gum

 mastering the art of origami

 eating baby vegetables

and worms

 spelling words out of alphabet soup letters 

 and guessing the ingredients of a seriously scary concoction

 Then off to Park City - where some

rode the Zipline!

 And others rode the Alpine Slide.

A fun time was had by all!

Oh - and I saw 2 moose(es)!

So cool!

The beauty of nature.

The great conversations.

The time together.

The warm blankets after swimming.

The cousins.

The snow in the mountains & waterskiing.

The beautiful sunshine.

All add up to one perfect overnight

camping/boating trip.

that we are as in love with

and enthralled by her

today as we were on August 8, 1987!

This is one of our favorite pictures.

There have been lots of birthdays
through the years.

When she turned 21 we had a fun, fun party in our backyard/Vegas!

Aunt Peggy (a real live dealer) was the hit of the night!

Last year Courtney was in Washington DC

so our next door neighbor Jadyn

was Courtney's proxy and blew out the candle!

While Sister Wightman partied with

her other Sisters!

We are so happy to get to celebrate

#24 together!

It is going to be another great year,
and Courtney, you just keep getting better and better!

Flowers

I know I said I would stop with the flowers . . .

but I just can't!

They really are beautiful

and this week's smell so good!

Saturday is a special day

It is the day we take a

long bike ride!

The Jordan River Parkway

 

 We took a different path and got to see

a wonderful little community garden. So cute.

 Not surprisingly, there is a lot more water

than usual along the parkway as well.

 We rode through the Peace Gardens

 and it was beautiful, as usual!

Then we left the parkway and started

riding on city streets.

FYI

Which was a little sketchy!

Until we got to our destination

 The Farmer's Market

 where we finally tried

Bruges Waffles

  and let me just say

they were as yummy as they look! 

 Saturday night we went to Aristo's

 

with Perky and John!

Such good food and such great company!

As you can see, Saturday was a special day

and the day we got ready for Sunday!
