And the days go by

Recently I went back to work full-time
and now I never take the time to post.
So here is a recap of the last 3 months!
Mark and I took our annual trip
 to the Spiral Jetty
and it was the driest year yet.
But it was way cool to walk all around it on the salt.
On the way home we stopped to see the Brigham City Temple.
We took another quick trip over Labor Day to St. George.
 Our favorite place.
CW was able to come for a couple of days too!
And the pool was still open!
 Aren't these two the cutest!!!
We got to see James Taylor with the Mo Tab!
Football season started
 with a BANG!
Very wet and cold - but still tons of fun!
Malia came to visit us at work.
She brought her Mom and Dad too!
Tony let us come and pick out some
pumpkins to take home! Courtney had a really good time!
We remodeled/refinished/whatever - our main bathroom
and we love it!
Karen and Michelle came to visit!
My work friends and I tried Ron's (our boss) burrito place
for lunch one day.
We visited Penn for her 1st birthday! And she is darling!
There was more football!
I was invited to my first Witches Tea! Scary!

I made pumpkin cream cheese whoopie pies
for our dinner party with Ben, CW, Cassie and Cameron!
We got to see some Wood family at a little party!
I love my Aunt Lette and Uncle Rex!
We drove to Logan to meet James Wesley Wood
Mom's eleventh great-grand-child and the first to
carry on the Wood name.
 He is perfect!
 Three generations.
While in Logan we had to go see the temple!
And Mom's friends and cousins Mel and Barbara.
And then it was Halloween and I went to lunch
with my friend Lorri - seen here with her daughter Emily - our waitress.
Then we entertained our trick-or-treat favorites!
Merida, Lady-bug, and a Bandit!

Then Mark found a new arcade - with his favorite games!
 What a lucky guy!
After a beautiful Saturday, November 2nd.
It snowed!
 Happy Sunday!
Some exciting stuff is happening in November around here . . .
in 26 days
we get to hug and kiss this girl again!!!

YAY!

Pickled Beets 101

First you plant them.
Then you watch them grow.
 Then you pick them.
 All of them.
Even if you did plant too many.
 Then you wash them.
 Boil them.
 Peel them.
 Slice them.
 Pickle them.
Then stand back in amazement at how many pints they filled!

Then - and this is the best part - you eat them!

San Francisco the Second

Sunday we went to Church - or tried to.
Clearly we were not the only tourists in town
and there was absolutely no room in the inn - or the chapel for that matter!
 Then we went to Chinatown.
 And it was fun.

I felt the need to include this photo because
1) we spent a lot of time and
2) money paying for parking!
Then we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge.

 And headed for Muir Woods
to see the redwood trees.

Then we went to Stinson Beach for a little
sand and sea air.

There is just nothing like the ocean.
On the way back to Oakland we drove on Highway 1
and although it makes those of us with motion issues
not really feel well
it is so beautiful!
We ate dinner at Spenger's in honor of my Mom and Dad
who loved this restaurant when we lived in Albany
years ago.
Where I had more fabulous seafood!

And we topped off a great dinner
and a wonderful trip
with ice cream from Fentons which is where
every Mormon (and probably lots of others)
goes for ice cream after attending the temple in Oakland.

Thanks to the Bay Area for a great time
we'll definitely be back soon!
