Thanksgiving 2012

This is a beautiful cornucopia that was the
flower arrangement at work the week of Thanksgiving.
It was full of fresh fruit and vegetables
and it was magnificent!

So . . . we went to St George for Thanksgiving.
On Wednesday, the Portlandian Woods came
for a surprise visit!
It happened to be Cael's 9th birthday
so we celebrated at a lunch at Red Robin.
Then took a few shots of the family - cousins!
The whole group - minus the photographer!
The Scott Wood family.
We were so happy to see them and spend some time
with them!
Then we got to work
making pies.
Don't we have some excellent pie skills?

Second only to the actual pie . . . we love these little treats!

Next morning
it was time to make the feast!
 Mark making stuffing.
 Fixings for the relish tray.
Stuffing celery - a Wightman tradition!
 Mr. and Mrs. Celery (delicious)!

And then it was time to EAT!

So happy that Mom and Priscilla and John were able to join us!

If you are counting . . .
we had a pie for each of us + 1 for good measure!
Then we took some photos for our
Christmas card.
FYI: I can share this one because it didn't make the cut!

The weather was beautiful so we went for a little walk around
the park next to the condo after dinner.
Everything in St. George is still fall-y!
I love these grasses - and Courtney!
Awwww . . .  cute!
The next morning we went to breakfast
and took a short drive through Snow Canyon.
 Always a St. George must.
But mostly
We relaxed - and played games on our iPhones!

It was a good time!

Snovember

For 33 years this guy right here has been attending EVERY
home BYU football game! And for 27 years
I have been tagging along.
In light of the freshly fallen snow, and the weather reports
for the BYU vs Idaho State game on November 10th,
Mark bought me some cozy new boots!
And I am sure glad he did! Look what we found on our seats!
I couldn't get over it!
We have never seen this in all our 30 years.

After shoveling our seats (sans shovel)
and trying to de-ice them,
we commenced watching the game.
This is what I sat next to in the 21 degree weather.
I sure am glad some (lots) of people stayed home because
there would have been nowhere to put the snow!
Lucky for me - this was what I sat next to
on the other side! Isn't she the cutest!!!
 Thanks to Mark's kindness . . .
we left at half-time and watched the rest of the game
right here!!

October Happenings

October was fun filled and beautiful!
With blue skies and an Indian summer!
Penn was born.
Another great-grandchild for Mom!
Courtney moved to a new apartment
with the help of these wonderful people!

We went to fun football games!
In beautiful weather!
We visited friends
with vampire teeth!
And got to enjoy time with family
and hold little Easton!
Courtney took a little trip to Texas to see the Caplin family.
We carved pumpkins.

With power tools!

And enjoyed the result.
Then Halloween came!
As did Dolores Umbridge, Little Red Riding Hood and Rosemary (sans baby)
And princesses and zebras

And French people and Utes!

And somewhere in the month - we made applesauce!
Isn't fall fabulous?!
