Halloween

It was a beautiful day and I felt like cooking!
I mean, you've got to have something festive
for Halloween dinner, right?
So I decided to try this new pumpkin soup recipe.
I needed to get the squash, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes {yams} roasting.
Then I started on the pumpkin tiramisu that Paige sent
me the recipe for a month ago.
Start with the lady fingers drizzled with maple syrup - sans bourbon of course!
(sounds Halloweeny - no?)
Then layer the pumpkin filling and top with mascarpone cheese.
While that chilled out in the fridge
the squash/pumpkin/yam bake finished up in the oven.
 My house smelled soooooo good!
Here is a shot of the squash/pumpkin/yam mash.
This is the finished product and it was very good!
Mom liked it!
The tiramisu was good but I may try dipping the lady fingers in
hot chocolate and drizzling Nutella on it next time!
I had to put in our favorite garden gnomes
and Minnie Mouse (check out the sparkly shoes)!
 Here are our cute pumpkins!
 Happy Halloween 2011!

Got Pumpkins?

We do!
Mark and I drove and the girls rode
over to the pumpkin patch
to get our pumpkins!
 Working hard!
 Being pretty!
 Lots to choose from!
Selections made!!
I maintain the idea that your kids are never too old
to carry on these little traditions!
And now you can see why!
Silly girls!

St. George

While on our most recent St. George trip
we decided to check out the pioneer celebration they were having!
Me posing by some of my St. George pioneer ancestor heritage (names)!
A lady making soap - like we did one year for Christmas.
They had cool covered wagons and horses and (loud) mules!

We also went to Red Cliffs.
 It was beautiful!

Can you see the snake about to eat the lizard?
Pretty funny - didn't scare the lizard at all!
The best picture of the weekend though
is this one!
Seriously, who would wear an animal on their head?
Well besides my husband, I mean.
St. George never disappoints!

Pioneer Children Sang - but I just walked

 My regular lunch date
had other plans yesterday
So I walked around all alone.
 It was really beautiful though.
I walked up to Apricot Street,
how would you like this view at the top of your street?
We have a beautiful capitol building.
Heck, the whole darn state is pretty spectacular!
 It was a good walk!

Absolutely beautiful.

Pumpkin Patch

Mom came for dinner on Sunday and
Courtney talked us into going on a little walk.
So we walked down the street and around the corner
to the neighborhood pumpkin patch!
And it was beautiful!
Thanks Courtney!
